Experience
My experience: I have just recently graduated with a B.A. in French, Spanish, and Anthropology – I love foreign languages and world socio-linguistics! While in college I tutored French grammar, to students in beginning and intermediate classes, for two years at our Language Studio and developed a love for teaching foreign language grammar. Some of my language classes required that I used an online tutoring platform (for people to tutor me) and that gave me a lot of experience for different tutoring styles as well. I also took two years of Spanish, as well as three years of Latin, in high school just before I started college. In sum: I've studied Latin for three years, French for four years, and Spanish for six years! I've also read classic and modern literature for each language in original text. I can provide assistance to those who want to learn a language for fun or for school! I can meet with learners regularly (as a homework buddy) or for those struggling with general grammar concepts. My tutoring style: I've found that an informal teaching style really helps the learning process. I teach/explain concepts in easy terms, in English. I always have little tips and tricks (no matter how corny!) to help learn grammar concepts or vocabulary. While I tutored French, I would even relate some concepts to Spanish grammar, if the learner was bilingual! I prefer to meet at a nearby Starbucks or library, or even through video/Skype chat!
